New Mexico highway plans and Nixon tapes headline Tucumcari meeting
On June 19 1974 the New Mexico Highway Commission met at Tucumcari City Hall with a dinner at the Pow Wow Inn. Agenda items included a nine mile east access point dispute near Tucumcari and the abandonment of a U S 66 right of way near Santa Rosa. Also on the agenda were highway speed zone settings and removing illegal billboards. In Washington House Judiciary members said Nixon audio tapes suggested earlier knowledge of the Watergate cover up. Tucumcari senior David Bollschweiler made the honor roll at NM Tech in Socorro. An organizational meeting of the Christian Businessmen Luncheon was set for the Ramada Inn with scripture and prayer. The Odeon Theatre showed a thriller.
