Voter Convenience Center Boosts Turnout in Tucumcari
Quay County Commissioners certified and approved the June 5 primary results at a Friday meeting. County Clerk Ellen White noted turnout was double the 2010 election and attributed it to the Voter Convenience Center at the Tucumcari Convention Center. Provisional ballots were minimal and no polling problems were reported.

Seven Tucumcari teens in the New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps will plant trees install a drip system place decorative rock and build a retaining wall at the train depot area. The project is funded by a EMNRD grant and offers a $1500 scholarship upon completion.
