Quay County Schools Earn Passing Grades Under New System
Gov. Susana Martinez announced that all Quay County schools met passing marks under New Mexico's new school grading system. More than 65 percent of state schools held steady or improved from the January preliminary grades. Tucumcari High fell from A to C, while Tucumcari Elementary rose to C and Tucumcari Middle to B.

State police boost holiday presence for safety in New Mexico

Tucumcari hosts 2012 dog and cat health fair August
The Volunteer Animal Rescue in Tucumcari will host a three day dog and cat health fair August 9 to 11 at the Tucumcari Convention Center. The Santa Fe Humane Society mobile spay and neuter van will serve preregistered patients for a $10 fee to be paid to the Santa Fe Humane Society. Registrations open July 16 at 8 a.m. with farm spaces listed in Tucumcari and nearby villages.
