Ute Lake plan eyed by regional water officials

Logan residents gather for centennial historic photo in New Mexico

Logan residents joined the Logan Ute Lake Chamber of Commerce for a Friday centennial photo recreating a 1912 shot in front of the First National Bank of New Mexico. Over 120 participants stood where the original photo was taken near McFarland Brothers Bank as four generations of Bruhns recalled family ties. The chamber installed a new board led by TJ Smith and issued plans to revitalize outreach and boost future participation.

Three Men Detain After Fast Chase Near Tucumcari

In January 1965 New Mexico State Police stopped a high speed pursuit on the west side of town. Three men William Randolph Amy, William Warren Nater Jr., and Mike Jerry Watson refused to identify themselves and claimed Orange County Branch Jail ties. Authorities believed them to be escapees from Santa Ana, California.
