District 4 Commissioner Lumpkin won 83 to 32 over Thomas Ewen in Quay County. In San Jose, Billie Jo Barnes won 28 to 15. Schleizer, Logan and House races yielded unopposed or minimal votes. The primary saw Nathan Wallace face Russell Shafer for Sheriff with Wallace 290 votes. turnout around 37 percent. Shafer won the general with a 1,379 to 1,279 edge. Ute Lake project funding faced scrutiny as counties pool money for a new independent study amid concerns over water loss and recreation.
