Fire sweeps Tucumcari motel in July blaze wounds none
In a July 16 morning fire at a Tucumcari motel 58 rooms with about 50 occupied were evacuated with no injuries as flames leveled the roof. Fire Chief Larry Rigdon said about 30 firefighters fought the blaze and authorities attributed the start to a lightning strike on the top southwest corner.
