Couple Buried Alive 20 Hours in Snow Drift Rescue
Jimmy and Betty Anderson survived a 20 hour ordeal after their Ford Fusion became trapped in a 12 foot snowdrift near Clovis. Rescuers located them two miles southeast of Clovis on Curry Road 6 amid white out conditions and heavy winds. Betty was hospitalized with chest pains but expects release. Jimmy was uninjured. They credited two men from Clovis public works and Ray Lee Equipment with freeing them.

Farwell police chief helps birth during blizzard
Farwell's police chief Larry Kelsay helped deliver a baby at a Seventh Street home after a winter blizzard closed roads and forced the family to stay home. Paramedics Weldon Kube and Craig Giesbrecht assisted as the baby arrived around 3 30 a.m. Everything went smoothly and mother and child were reported well.
