Logan loses appeal to halt Ute Lake intake construction

The 10th Circuit in Denver declined Logan's bid to stop the Ute Lake Reservoir intake project part of the Ute Lake Project, to pipe drinking water to Curry and Roosevelt counties. The court ruled halting work would cause irreparable harm to the water supply relied on by Roosevelt County residents. Logan had sought an injunction and an environmental impact statement dating to April 2012, but the district court and appellate court rejected the request. Village manager Larry Wallin criticized the ruling and reiterated Logan's concerns about a minimum pool level of 3,765 feet.
