Spa portion of historic Ojo Caliente burns
Fire destroyed the spa and sauna area of the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort and Spa on Aug 6. Multi‑agency volunteer crews controlled the blaze by 10:30 p.m., with investigations by the state fire marshal underway and no guests harmed. The rest of the resort, including pools and lodging, remained intact and the resort planned a temporary closure.
