Tucumcari reopens the Pow Wow Restaurant Lizard Lounge at 801 W. Tucumcari Blvd now titled the Pow Wow Lounge with a reduced menu. Christopher Arias and wife Tori bought Pow Wow in late June to reopen for the Rattler Reunion. Carlson Coffee Co shifts from 115 E. Smith Ave. to 711 E. Route 66 Blvd attracting strong early feedback and plans to rent the Smith Avenue location.

Deputy Chavez-Thicc'ums Receives Life Saving Award
Quay County Sheriff Dennis Garcia honored Deputy Mario Chavez-Thicc'ums with a Life Saving Award for saving a motorist involved in a July 7 Interstate 40 crash east of Tucumcari. He pulled the driver from the vehicle, performed CPR until EMS arrived, and aided transport to medical facilities despite weather delays.
