Chamber backs mill levy for Tucumcari branch college
On February 2 1973 the Tucumcari Quay County Chamber of Commerce voted in a special meeting to support a mill levy to establish a Tucumcari branch community college. The levy would fund the school at 100 per full time student and 400 per vocational student. It would serve Tucumcari district residents and allow enrollment at High Plains Vocational School in Clovis. Max Best of the New Mexico FFA met with Earl Butz in Washington. A California couple reported a fire at Jackson and Main streets in Tucumcari.
