Family donates 19th century Challenge Gordon platen press
The White family donated a heavy 1884 Challenge Gordon platen press to the Tucumcari Historical Museum. Gerald White and Carol White Nash witnessed Marlin Terry of Terry's Service Center move the 200 plus pound machine from the family home in San Jon to the museum site with a skid loader. The press, made by Shneidewend & Lee of Chicago, printed items from 1884 to 1910 and was used by Clark T. White in the 1950s for school programs and wedding napkins.
