Tucumcari city commissioners unanimously approve naming Fifth Street Park in honor of Damon Kools who died April 6 1970 in a car truck crash on U.S. 66 near the Texas border. Kools longtime Western Auto store owner and civic leader aged 48. Also note April 9 1940 reward offered by George Eager for stealing electrical wiring from a Boy Scout hut at 1611 S Monroe St.
