Commencement speaker Alan Freed told Punxsutawney Area High School graduates to begin working on their bucket lists as they head to college, the workforce, or the military. He stressed remembering roots and said it's good to be back in Punxsutawney.

PAHS Envirothon Team Secures County Win and Second Overall
Four Punxsutawney Area High School students Morgan Doverspike Elissa Hill Eric Ritchey and Kameron Rummel competed in the Jefferson-Clarion County Envirothon at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds May 7 earning first in Jefferson County and second overall despite a four person team. The event drew teams from Redbank Valley Brookville Clarion-Limestone Union and Clarion in its 31st Pennsylvania Envirothon year highlighting soils aquatics forestry wildlife and a yearly topic.

Jeff Tech evacuated after bomb threat
A bomb threat at Jeff Tech prompted an early morning evacuation after 9 a.m. Police found a message inside a school bathroom, and a Warren K nine unit assisted the search with no findings reported. Students were bused back to their home districts as the investigation continued.
