Public Ledger Office Aims to Centralize Advertisements
A plan proposes a new Public Ledger in St Pauls Church Yard next to the Great Log Shop. The office would register all papers and notices from across the kingdom, with ads searchable by subject and date. Ads could be registered after Ledger publication, for transparency and ease of access. The scheme targets a threepence search fee and three shillings per advertisement.
