Public Ledger Plan Promises Central Index for Advertisements
A novel public index system is proposed to unite scattered notices, proposals, and sales across papers. An office in St Paul’s Church Yard will register papers alphabetically by subject and date for a fee, with optional fuller registration, to ease access for distant readers and improve commerce.
