Workhouse Fire at Hickman's Folly Sparks Royal Pardon Reward
On a Saturday dawn the Pitch and Link Workhouse of Henry Haskins in Bermondsey burned. Haskins offers a royal pardon to any participant who helps convict the arsonists, excluding the actual fire setter, and a Twenty Pound reward on conviction. Also notes Lloyd’s Rosciad authorship denial and several late 18th century ads for razors, shaving powders, and goods sale at London coffee houses with catalog listings.
