Estep Honored by Ford 300-500 Club Award

Paul D. Estep of Estep Motor Company received 1965 sales honor at a Savery Hotel banquet in Des Moines. J. T. Cavnar announced select Des Moines Ford dealers would receive 300-500 Club memberships for top retail sales. The club, founded in 1950, honors dealers with about $500,000 in sales in 1965.

Library Receives Spring Book allotment Cooperative Display

The La Porte City Free Public Library received several boxes of books from the Eastern Iowa Library Cooperative spring exchange. Assorted fiction for adults and young adults and easy books for children were included along with many art books for local artists and students. The cooperative includes 34 libraries with headquarters at Cedar Falls Public Library. Clifford Williams of La Porte City sold an Aberdeen Angus bull to Wade Rogers of Brandon and Eldo Hasley of Fairfax.

Jaycee Installation Banquet at Larry's Wednesday Night

Hearing Date Set on New Paving Project

Don R. Olson of 505 Oak La Porte City attended the annual Water Works Short Course at the University of Iowa last week. The two day session covered design, operation and management of water distribution systems with twenty four experts speaking. The event was sponsored by the University of Iowa Colleges of Engineering and Medicine, the State Hygienic Laboratory, and the Division of Extension and University Services in cooperation with the Iowa State Department of Health and the Iowa Section American Water Works Association.

Harold Johnson to Retire from La Porte City Grocery

Harold Johnson, a La Porte City businessman for 45 years, retires May 5 after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage on April 24. His Johnson's Grocery inventory will be sold at auction Tuesday. He will remain in La Porte City and sell three Main Street buildings.
