Vancouver Beefeater Band to Perform in La Porte City
The 70 piece world renowned Vancouver Beefeater Band will arrive Saturday afternoon July 24 in La Porte City for a concert and depart 10 a.m. Sunday July 25. The group recently played the Minneapolis Aquatennial and has appeared at Pasadena Rose Parade Expo 67 and New York World's Fair. Arrangements are by Mrs. Jim Bagenstos and Mrs. Phil Smith.

City Council Rules for Dead Tree Removal in City Areas
The City Council at the July meeting ordered Ladd Tree Service to remove all dead and dying elm trees on city property including streets alleys and public areas. Support La Porte Parade Plans Being Made
Rudy Bader, parade chairman, reports plans are set for the Support La Porte parade on September 4 at 2 p.m. Invitations include Shriners units from several towns plus a Shrine float, Drum and Bugle Group, and marching band.
