Schneider Family Moves to Davenport After Resigning

Seventy Seventh Birthday Observed by Mrs Bickel Family

Mrs. W. H. Bickel celebrated her seventy seventh birthday with a family gathering in Vinton yesterday. Attending were Mr and Mrs W E Bickel, Mr and Mrs George Bickel and three children, Miss Alice Jervis, and Miss Bess Wallace of Washington Ta. Dinner was served at six thirty by daughter Cora Bowman and relatives visited in the evening. Mrs Bickel remains homebound but in fair health and helps with housework.

Mrs Henry Wiese Died This Morning

Word was received today that Mira Henry Wiese died at her home in Davenport this morning. The deceased had lived in the community for many years and was well known by neighbors. The remains will be taken to Mt Auburn for funeral services for her son Albert Wiese to burial at Greenwalt cemetery near Mt Auburn. Funeral time not yet announced.

Fire destroys whole barn on J W Craft farm

Early Monday morning a fire at the J W Craft farm in Spring Creek township consumed the barn and its contents. Lake Craft home, wagon, harness, hay, a new hay form, and a silo blown down in a prior storm suffered damage. insurance partially covered the loss.

Missionary Meeting Programs At The June Miskiwaaay Society

Yesterday afternoon in the church an afternoon program featured an alternator and a three act play Pau Muse tera with a full cast praised for talent. Mrs. H. J. Kline led the announcement and the program closed with a monologue The Morning Mail Fate. Attendees included Mrs. Leona Rosener Hall and baby Wen out of town visitors and a Thrift club picnic with races and a ball game. Next meeting set for July 18 at Mrs. A. Bown’s home.

Death Visits Two Homes Funeral Rites and Obituaries

Funeral services were held for William F. Everts at Barnhart funeral home with Rev. D W Morgan officiating. Interment in West View Cemetery. Born January 10, 1855, in Ruby Michigan, he died June 21 at his daughter’s home, aged 71 years 5 months 11 days. Surviving are daughter Minnie Dixon of La Porte City, sons Larry and Irwin, and granddaughter Dorothy Jane Everts. Also noted is the death of Stephen Cook, Civil War veteran, at Engle Center. Funeral services for Cook were at his son’s home in Vinton with burial at Vinton Cemetery, following a prior service at Eagle Center.

Graduate Nurse Misa Blanche Christopher Graduates

Misa Blanche Christopher daughter of Dr and Mrs W F Christopher has completed her nursing course and earned a diploma. She studied at Rochester Minnesota Hospital and was graduated the first week of this month. Her father and relatives traveled to Rochester to witness the degree.
