Farewell For Bissingers Set At United Methodist Hometown
Rev. and Mrs. Don Bissinger receive a farewell dinner and open house at St. Paul United Methodist Church in La Porte City next Sunday. A 11:30 a.m. potluck precedes a 2 to 5 p.m. public reception. After 40 years in the United Methodist Conference, Rev. Bissinger retires with a last sermon at 10:15 a.m. next Sunday. The couple will live at Rt. 1 Box 278B Blue Eye Missouri near Branson, after serving parishes in Orient Bagsey Waukee Wellman Albia Atlantic Jefferson Shenandoah and La Porte City. He also served as a U.S. Army Chaplain in World War II and retired from the Active U.S. Army Reserve in 1972 as lieutenant colonel. The Bissingers have three sons Paul Chuck Stan and two grandsons.
