Hold Services for Kruckenberg Baby
Committal services for Sharon Kay Kruckenberg infant daughter of Mr and Mrs James Kruckenberg were held Wednesday at West View Cemetery with Mr Henry Warkentle of the Presbyterian church officiating. The baby died Tuesday afternoon after birth at Presbyterian hospital. Survived by parents, one sister Sharleen Lou, one brother Dennis James, maternal grandparents James and Mrs Christian, paternal grandparents Mr and Mrs Lewis Kruckenberg, and maternal great grandmother Mrs Goodspeed of Hawkeye. They will reside on Chestnut Street. The bride worked in the family Snack Shop and attended Murray State Teacher's College. The groom is a Brown Transfer Co truck driver. Out of town guests attended from Charles City Nashua Dubuque and other areas.

La Porte City Lions Club directors voted to raise funds to spray the residential district for polio prevention. Volunteers will visit homes, collecting at least 1.50 per house for two sprayings on June 15 and August 15, to cover air plane hire and equipment. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Locke funeral home in Waterloo for Mrs. Mary L. Ponsford. She died Friday of a heart attack at 65. Rev. T Ketcham officiated and burial was in Mt Vernon township cemetery. She was born April 15, 1883 near Oswego, Alabama, daughter of George and Caroline Bopp. She married Walter E. Ponsford June 8, 1910, in Waterloo. Surviving are a sister and two brothers. she was preceded by her husband and her parents. A please for all F. H. A members is planned in the R. D. Sweet number Thursday, June 10, weather permitting. If rain, the pleate will be in the hot lunch room of the school.
