Vic Peterson longtime La Porte City resident and businessman died Wednesday at State University Hospital Iowa City at age 67 from cirrhosis and complications. Born February 1 1882 in Sweden he lived in La Porte City since 1900 and was married to Hazel Bowers in 1922. Surviving are his widow daughter and two grandsons. services Friday at Johannsen funeral home with Lotus Lodge members attending and burial in West View Cemetery.

Dr Eugene F Arns will open a chiropractic office in La Porte City on Saturday June 4 in the former Laneville space. He and his wife will reside above the office with their two daughters. A World War II Navy veteran, Arns studied at the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago and completed an internship at Chicago General Health Service. Mr Laneville left La Porte City for Waterloo this week to practice in Waterloo on Washington Street, the former Garnier space.

Improvements Made At Jubilee School
Improvements were made on the modern water facilities of Jubilee Consolidated school last week. Permanent drainage equipment was installed through the efforts of a tiling machine and the tractors scrapers and loaders of the men of the school board. Marvin Reinsche escaped serious injury when his tractor overturned during earth moving operations. Mr Reinsche received scratches. The tractor was badly damaged.

Rites Held Tues For E C Bradfield Former Resident
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 330 o clock from Locke Funeral home in Waterloo for Edward C Bradfield formerly of La Porte City and Mican ity who was killed in a train wreck near Waverly on Thursday. Rev M E Meyer of the First Brethren church in Waterloo conducted the funeral and burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Bradfield had been an engineer for the Illinois Central railroad for 32 years and was making an extra run when two trains collided at a crossing due to a failed automatic interlocking control switch. He suffered a crushed head and scalded legs. He was born March 13 1889 at La Porte City and grew up there. He married Clara Ashley and six sons and four daughters survive, along with his wife two brothers and two sisters. Relatives in La Porte City include a daughter Mrs Donald Richards and in law Roy E Ashley Leland Ashley a sister-in-law Mrs Ralph Foss and several aunts cousins nephews and nieces.
