Shadows of Porner Years Recall Local Life Fifty Years Ago

Forty years ago in La Porte City a baby was born to Mr and Mrs Wesley Fogles. Local notes mention visitors from Ireton, masquerade memories, a student in Cedar Rapids commercial college, a lecture about life in town years ago, and a Knights of Pythian lodge organized with officers named. Thirty five years ago families moved, lawsuits over drainage, and a new Eastern Star chapter forming as patriotic school programs and social events filled the town calendar.
