World War sailor H P Perigo dies after strokes
Henry Peter Perigo a World War Navy veteran born October 13 1896 in La Porte City died after weeks of illness from strokes. He served on U S Georgia and U S S Texan crossing the ocean seven times before discharge in 1919. He is survived by his widow Velma, his father F M Perigo, siblings and many relatives. Funeral was at Sacred Heart Waterloo with burial at Eagle Center.

The school schedules February 26 to March 1 to collect old newspapers and magazines to fund new Victor phonograph records for the Music Department. Board of Education endorsement is noted. Town pupils should not return before 12 45 PM and country pupils are to stay thirty minutes in the lunch room supervised by a teacher to eat.

19 year old Arnet A. Thomas of La Porte City Iowa joined the Marine Corps in Fargo North Dakota two to three weeks ago and was sent to San Diego for training. He was born in Colfax Iowa son of George A Thomas and will likely serve aboard a naval vessel or other Marine duties. Enlistment is for four years with access to Marine Corps Institute courses during service.

Farewell Party For Goddard Family Ends A Neighborhood Run
Community club members and families gathered at Mr and Mrs Howard Goddard home Sunday for a farewell party before the family moves from the neighborhood after years of residence. Thompson Named to Fill County Soldiers Relief Panel

Bertha Louise Pfalzgraf mother of E L Pfalzgraf of this place died suddenly Sunday morning at her Waterloo home. Funeral service held Tuesday in Waterloo undertaker chapels conducted by Rev. Yuggy and Rev. Smith. Interment in Waterloo cemetery. Born January 21, 1867 in Germany, married August 5, 1880 to J W Pfalzgraf who died April 21, 1925. Survived by five children and ten grandchildren.

Prominent Farmer H. A. Peters Dies at Rochester Hospital
H A Peters a well known farmer living six miles west of Dysart died in a Rochester Minnesota hospital after arriving for medical aid. He leaves a wife six daughters and four sons. Funeral services were held at the Dysart Lutheran church this afternoon with a Masonic funeral at the grave. He belonged to Browns Lodge No 216 A F & AM. A lodge delegation attended and exhibited the Masonic rites at the graveside.

Coots Family Honored At Thrift Club Meeting
