Raub’s Celebrate Silver Wedding Anniversary

Saturday afternoon February 4 a company of yiesta were invited to the home of Mr and Mrs Adam Raub northeast of iesart to celebrate their twenty fifth wedding anniversary. The home was prettily decorated with pink and white crepe paper and roses. The bridal party including the groom and bride were joined by Mr and Mrs C R Meeker of Waterloo as attendants and Amelia erna as flower girl. Reverend Kaupp officiated and songs were sung as the daughter of the hosts accompanied. Guests extended congratulations and gifts in silver marked a pleasant social afternoon.

Fall injures Mrs Persis Firestone before Catholic Ladies League visit

Mrs Persis Firestone fractured the small leg bone and tore ligaments in a fall at her home Tuesday evening while leaving for the home of Mr and Mrs Glenn Foss to attend a Catholic Ladies League event. An X‑ray is pending. the injury’s full extent uncertain. She is confined to her bed and cared for by her daughter, Mrs Elmer Bitterley of Waterloo.

La Porte Drops Close Battle In Waterloo Loss

La Porte and Waterloo clash as Jesup overwhelms La Porte 24 6 and La Porte struggles from the field. La Porte led early but faded in the third and fourth quarters with turnovers and cold shooting. Brother Died Tuesday in Lanark County

Relatives learn of the death of 4B Shaner at his Lanark home. He was a brother of Mrs Eliza Webster and John Shaner and of the late Albert Shaner. An uncle of Mrs Jay Anton and Porter Shaner of La Porte City. Funeral held at two this afternoon. Mrs Anton traveled to Lanark for the service. This marks the second brother in less than three weeks.

Close Call From An Untimely Death

R Elliott escaped death when his car was struck by a passenger train near Stock Yards. He was thrown from the driver's seat, suffering a deep gash and other bruises. he received care at Dr Fields and was resting at home. The Blatt car was badly wrecked and efforts to repair it continued.
