Wedded at May's Church in La Porte City

The Ipular couple Frank J. Gill and Miss Helen Lassen wed at St Marys Church in La Porte City in a ceremony led by Rev Father Tobin. Bride Miss Margaret Gill was bridesmaid. reception followed at the Odd Fellows hall with about 200 guests. The couple plan a short wedding tour then home as Mr Gill will work on the John Driscoll farm. Local notices follow with ads and society updates.

Unity meeting by American Legion set for Feb 16 at high school

A unity meeting sponsored by La Porte City American Legion posts opens a series of community talks at the high school auditorium Monday evening February 16. The program includes several musical numbers and two speakers of notable Legion fame. The event aims to engage all local organizations and the public at 8 00 PM in La Porte City.

Noted speakers addressed sessions and discussed plans for those attending. Demonstration of Physical Training in La Porte City Schools

A physical training demonstration in La Porte City Schools will be held in the gym at 7:30 and 8:00 pm on February 19 and 20 under Geneva Faber. The program includes Grand March, various dances, songs, and grouped exercises led by teachers and high school students, followed by a Good Cheer Club gathering hosted by Mrs. Arthur Wilson and family.

Funeral Held for W. Mt Graduela Former Resident

Funeral services were held yesterday at ten o'clock in Canton South Dakota for W Mt Graduela a former resident. He moved to Canton years ago and later died at home in Lang Besch California. He left a widow and four children. The service was conducted at the cemetery and attended by relatives and friends.

Lions Club Postpones Meeting After Fire At Lion Snyder’s

The Lions Club paused Tuesday noon meeting due to Lion Snyder’s injuries from a recent fire. To resume regular schedule the next meeting will be held Tuesday with Lion X. HL. tan. chome in charge and attendance noted.

Marriage of C. S. Fort and Pearl Kocher at Sioux Falls

The wedding of Mr. C. S. Fort and Miss Pearl Kocher of La Porte City took place Monday afternoon at Sioux Falls South Dakota. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Tex Hanson of the Presbyterian church. The couple vacationed by auto to La Porte City after the ceremony and plan to settle in Southern California. Pearl is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. BOF. Racher and a former La Porte City resident, a dancer and accomplished musician. C. S. Fort is an electrician employed by the Iowa Daily Electric Co. The couple will live with friends in the immediate future as they prepare their move to California.

Black Hawk Farm Bureau Dinner At Waterloo

Monday evening at Black's Tea Room in Waterloo the Black Hawk County Farm Bureau held a meeting with about fifty five attendees including Rev GC Lusted and Rev Roy Aghley. The event featured a dinner with no courses and an address by Rev Lusted followed by remarks from county officials and M L Smalling.
