Mrs Ama Van Schoick aged 96 years 9 months 15 days died Sunday evening at Watnts 14 So Soller Home hospital in Marshalltown after a long illness. She was born in Sullivan Green county Indiana in 1852 and moved to La Porte City with her first husband Elyjan Mitch in 1868 later moving to Marshalltown then to the Iowa Soldiers Home in Marshalltown. Survivors include three granddaughters six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm at Johannsen funeral home with burial in West View cemetery. Fourteen local and out of town relatives attended the service.
