New Way explores attitudes with student committees
At a December Student Council meeting a group of students formed a committee to bring in a speaker on attitudes. Members are Jeff Lee, Dick Dunkelberger, Dan Reiter, and Karmen Stahnke. A second committee of Andrea Wester, Darcy Emberton, and Jodi Johannsen will seek ways to boost school spirit, respect, and pride.

LPC Businessmen's Group Makes Changes
The La Porte City Businessmen's Association changes its meeting day and time to a 6 p.m. dinner on the first Tuesday of January and February 1977 at the Senior Citizens Center. Reservations are due by Friday, December 31 with cancellations by noon January 4. Extra hours extend some businesses to 9 p.m. on Thursdays January through June 4 for a trial period to gauge public interest.

Pay Raises for School Administrators at December Board Meeting
School Board approved salary hikes for administrators including Elementary Principal Ron Crooks Junior Senior High Principal George Kelley and Administrative Assistant Art Finke each gaining 1500. Assessor Hours Announced For City Areas
Assessor John Hager will be at the Mayor's office in La Porte City from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, January 3 to January 28. Special hours set for Washburn, Raymond, and Gilbertville at various locations and dates, including February 7 and 8 in Raymond and January 3 to 7 in Gilbertville.
