Auto Accident Injures Seven Near La Porte City
An accident on Christmas Eve south of La Porte city on Hiway 218 injured seven people. At about 6 p.m. inside the city limits a car driven by Harold Edwards of Mason City ran out of control on a curve and rolled over several times. Injured were Edwards two daughters Torie and Margaret, and Mrs. Bonnie DeCarlo with her three Cedar Rapids daughters.

Fred Koch of Waterloo reports Black Hawk county and Iowa surpassed their 1971 savings bonds quotas in November. Black Hawk sales of Series E and H reached 347,793 for an eleven month total of 3,558,946 or 105 percent of the county quota. Iowa’s November sales totaled 6,201,614 lifting the state eleven month total to 76,992,778 or 102 percent of the 1971 goal.
