Two Families Injured In Car Crash Near Church
A head on collision north of Dysart injured two rural families returning from Mass. Mrs Huppert and Donald Cashen were hospitalized for facial injuries while Mr Cashen escaped unhurt. Vehicles sustained severe damage and both families involved are from the Mt Carmel and southwest area. Churches in the La Porte City vicinity report regular services and Christmas observances continuing.

McGarvey Rites Held at Blessing Church
Funeral services were held Monday for James McGarvey 73 of Waterloo a former Eagle Town shop farmer. He died Thursday at St. Francis hospital of a heart ailment. Born in Ireland he came to the United States at 16 and farmed near Reinbeck and Eagle Center before moving to Waterloo in 1936. Surviving are two sons two daughters and 18 grandchildren. Burial was in Blessing cemetery.
