Former La Porte City Girl Married in West
Miss Lucile Wagner daughter of Mr and Mrs Otis Wagner and a former La Porte City girl was married Friday evening November 22 to Robert Halliday of Los Angeles California The ceremony was at the Second Brotherhood church of Los Angeles at 800 pm with Rev Arthur Kimmell officiating The couple stood before a fern and oxeye chrysanthemum banked altar attended by Mr and Mrs Howard Keene The bride wore eggshell satin carried roses and gardenias lilies of the valley The ceremony was witnessed by immediate relatives and a few close friends The bride moved to Los Angeles with her parents six years ago She completed the commercial course in the Western City high school in June of the present year She is now a secretary in one of the junior high schools in Los Angeles The groom works with the General Petroleum Corporation They will reside at 5896 Miramonte Blvd Los Angeles for the time being.

Death Comes Sudden for Alonzo Fry in Rockford Iowa
Relatives report the sudden death of Alonzo Z. Fry in Rockford Iowa shortly after noon on Thursday. Born February 19 1860 near Richfield Wisconsin he lived for many years in La Porte City before moving nineteen years ago. He worked at a hardware store in Rockford prior to his death and is survived by a wife Miss Nettie Evans a niece Catherine Evans three siblings Perry Fry Amos Fry and Mrs O Tenant. Funeral services were held in Rockford and burial followed at West View cemetery in La Porte City.

Funeral Attended for Susanne Hunt in Rochester
L A Ritter and his daughter Miss Leda traveled to Rochester Minnesota last night to be at the funeral service for Susanne Hunt the young daughter of Dr and Mrs Vern C Hunt. Susanne died Monday evening after a sudden illness with pains in her head diagnosed as a brain tumor. The local community extends sympathy to the Hunt family and notes Dr Hunt’s long association with La Porte City.
