Rosa Huppert Dies in Vinton at 71
Mrs Rosa Huppert died Monday morning at Vinton hospital after a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 PM in the local Methodist church, with burial in Dysart cemetery. She leaves four sons Walter and John, Cecil, Dean. three daughters Mrs Wesley Horak, Mrs Lyle Jeffers, Mrs Jon McCann. also five grandchildren and several Gulick siblings.

Death of Radcliffe Schneider in Greeley Iowa
Radcliffe Schneider of Greeley Iowa died Monday morning from a heart attack at age 30 after 20 years in the hardware business. Born October 16 1897 in Greeley he was married July 1 1928 to Beth Igon of La Porte City who survives with two sisters.

Mrs C C McCoy and Daughter Die in Auto Crash
Mrs C C McCoy and her daughter Maurine died in an August 1 automobile accident ten miles west of Wilcox Arizona while traveling from California toward Lovington New Mexico to meet her son Oren McCoy of Cedar Rapids and family for a vacation. Mrs McCoy was thrown from the car and killed instantly. Maurine died en route to hospital. Funeral held in Pasadena. Survived by son Oren and three grandchildren. former La Porte City residents. Mrs McCoy was daughter of the late Dr and Mrs Jesse Oren.

Horace Brokaw died at his home Monday evening after a week of heart trouble closing a life spent farming and welding in the La Porte City area. He was born January 29 1887 and survived by a widow three brothers two sisters and several in-laws with services to be held at the Johannsen funeral home. Burial followed at West View cemetery with mourners from Waterloo Davenport Muscatine and nearby towns. The day’s heat in Death Valley is mentioned in passing as a contrasting note.
