Last Rites for Mrs Moberly Held in Orange Township
Funeral services for Mrs Harvey E Moberly of Orange township were held Monday afternoon at the Johanas church with Rev Sink of the Brethren officiating. Burial followed in Hudson cemetery. Died at her farm home Saturday at 5 45 p m after a stroke aged 67 she had lived in Orange township since marriage in 1903. Survived by husband son Dexter of Waterloo daughter Mrs Gladys Martin of Traer two grandchildren Coral Jean Moberly and Jack Martin, last of her immediate family. She belonged to the Church of the Brethren and the WCTU.

Over four months the Hilmer family endured ongoing hospital stays after a string of misfortunes. Garth Leo Timer, Otis Hilmer’s newborn son, and multiple relatives faced surgeries and injuries from a June auto crash. Henry Hilmer's wife endured extensive injuries and long hospitalization, with further family members treated for fractures and trauma.

Funeral services for Mrs Ida Betts who died July 29 were conducted Friday at 2 30 pm by Rev Henry Schrag at Jo hannsen Funeral home with Mrs Cliff Burr on organ. Pallbearers were Richard Mahood Walter Berryhill HD Kline Keith Kline Harry Esher and Charles Kocher. Interment was in the family lot at West View cemetery amid out of town relatives from Waterboro Keystone Parkersburg Trace My Garwin and Sho Pele areas.

Charles Y W Long longtime Brandon resident died at University hospital in Town City aged 78. Funeral Friday at Brandon Christian church with burial at Bear Creek. Born January 5 1872 on a Brandon farm. Survived by wife Anna three daughters Neva Hackett Florence Wyman Bessie Slager and three sons William Marvin Raleigh. Also sisters Effie Geiger Verna Shadduck and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers listed with singers and accompanist noted.

Feed meeting draws good attendance at La Porte Co Op
Last Thursday night the La Porte City Co-Op Elevators sponsored a nutritional feed meeting in the high school auditorium. Elevators officials said attendance was strong with two Des Moines nutritionists Ernie Lysier and Carrollson presenting on general feed nutrition. The session opened to questions from farmers while veterans training on the farm attracted many locals. Mrs Fred Bohrnsen is ill at home with shingles.
