Basketball Playoffs Start in Princeton League
The Princeton Community Basketball League begins its final two weeks with a playoff between the winner and runner-up to crown the champions. Highits town leads with Rod and Gun and Terminals tied for second. Next Tuesday Rod and Gun versus Terminals determine second place. Towns Club meets Dutch Neck and Hightstown plays Witherspoon Y. Dutch Neck beat Rod and Gun 28 to 20 last Tuesday, with Bob MacAvenna leading Rod and Gun and Johnny Tindall key for Dutch Neck. Pete McCrohan scored 26 for the Terminals in a 45 to 33 win over Witherspoon Y, while Phox and Jordan starred for the losers.

Lions Plan Hockey Trip to New York
The Princeton Lions Club plans a group trip to a New York hockey game on Thursday March 9 with almost 50 members. A special PRR car will carry the group from Princeton at 12 40 PM and Junction ten minutes later, arriving 1 40 PM. They will tour Shaeffer's Brewery in Brooklyn, lunch, and watch the New York Americans play the Boston NHL team in a reserved section, returning early Friday morning.

Junction Bridge Start Assured Over Route 31
State Highway Commissioner Donald Stern announced final working plans for the Route 31 bridge over the Pennsylvania Railroad at Princeton Junction have been approved. Bids will be sought March 15, funded by a $200,000 Federal Bureau of Roads grant. construction planned for spring with plans by the Pennsylvania Railroad Engineering Department.
