An unidentified man was carried three miles by a balloon rope near Boonville during a national balloon race. He clung mid rope, was battered by trees, and refused to name himself. Local motorists helped pull the balloon down and the crew then adjusted the bag before resuming the race.

Corpus Christi Texas September 28 A hen owned by Dr W W E Wills is suffering nervous prostration after a nest of alligator eggs was found. The doctor hatched six eggs by placing alligator eyes under a sedate yard fowl which dutifully sat, but when the single egg hatched the hen fled the nest cackling.
Mr and Mrs T M Bucklin returned Monday night from visits in Muncie and Indianapolis where they spent ten days.
