A large crowd packed the grandstand as Sol’s United Shows offered a full carnival with rides, games, and food. Oil firms drill multiple wells in Dataville fields
The Consolidated Oil company of Indianapolis reports a 978 foot depth on the Hightower lease producing 300 barrels in the Dataville field eight miles north. At Shafer lease a 1300 foot depth yielded a sixty barrel well. Kraveer Oil of Henderson Kentucky drilled a 100 barrel well on the Atkinson lease near the Hightower site after a prior dry hole in the Oatsville field.

Rioting broke out in Wilkes Barre in the anthracite district as strikers and guards clashed at the Pitson station of the Delaware and Hudson railroad. Scouts Win City Approval to Build Hall in Park
