Andy Weidenbener retired after thirty-nine years as a steam hammer operator at the Princeton shops. His son Matthew, 27 years, began at age 15 in 1899, and grandson Edward followed in 1918 at age 16, all three generations from the Weidenbener family in local Southern Railway service.

Death of Robert Jeffery at 76 in county infirmary
Robert Jeffery aged 76 died Sunday at 6 am in the county infirmary. His remains lay at Radcliff and Colvin morgue before being sent to Hazleton for funeral and burial. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.

Two Miners Die In Coal Mine Rock Fall
Calvin Flack aged 60 and Warren Lashbrook aged 34 were killed when rock fell from the mine roof. Flack, a noted local miner and mine committee chairman, left a widow and four children. Lashbrook, a World War I veteran and United Mine Workers member, left a widow and his parents.
