Washington officials say if a nationwide railroad strike occurs President Harding has strong options. The government could seize strike funds, pursue criminal conspiracy charges, or take control of railroads under the defense act to keep trains running.
Democratic mayoral candidate Charles A. Niemeier pledges to give his first year's salary toward establishing children's playgrounds if elected. Campaigns across four Princeton wards feature Niemeier and other Democrats attacking the GOP administration, praising platform pledges, and highlighting proposed baseball park funding.
Seven Western hospital nurses were hospitalized after eating homemade candy laced with potassium cyanide addressed to Miss Helen Rosenfeld. A note claimed it was from a devoted admirer. Doctors said the poison could kill all in the facility. stomach pumps saved the victims. Two brothers were questioned as possible suspects.
