Thieves Loot Broad Street Jewelry Store in Morning Robbery
A jewelry store on Broad street near Hart streets was ransacked by thieves using a brick in a sunny sack to smash the plate glass. They stole jewelry valued at least $350 wholesale and fled in a Buick with a car taken from M L Bottom. A gas theft at a Standard Oil station followed, with hundreds of gallons spilled. Police believe the same gang committed all three crimes.
