Oil truck collision leaves driver in critical condition
Morten Braselton was seriously injured Friday when the Sinclair oil truck he drove was hit by a light engine. He was dragged several feet, suffering severe lacerations and a brain concussion. Doctors report no broken bones but condition remains critical, though he was resting this afternoon.

The strong Evansville Athletics base ball team will play Princeton at coal mine park Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Day and Carrel will probably be the batteries for the locals. DePalma Leads Liberty Race as Thurman Is Killed
Louis Lecocq and Mechanician Bandine died when their Roamer overturned and caught fire at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Ralph DePalma led the 250 mile race before pitting with a broken valve spring, as three deaths occurred in the opening 250 miles. Wilcox held an average of 89.79 while DePalma ran an average of 91.66 at 300 miles.

Arthur Thurman in the Thurman Special died when his car rolled over on the back stretch at the 45th lap. Mechanic M Mollinaro suffered a fractured skull. The crash occurred as 34 cars started and Corey and his Ogren car re-entered after scratches. Thurman was from Washington DC driving a rebuilt Duesenberg at about 90 mph.
