Report says a treaty presented to the Austrians on Friday likely omits disputed points not yet agreed by Dele Gates. Italians are reported willing to grant concessions and speed up peace negotiations.
The plenary session in Paris extended for 48 hours after a Balkan delegate requested continuation. The day heard the planned Austrian peace term summary while Germany sent counter proposals to the Foreign Office and presented them to the Big Four.
Representatives of the nations that defeated Austria meet in the French foreign office to approve a summary for Austria’s continued existence. The term will be presented to Austrian delegates at St Germain tomorrow amid allied disagreement over Italy and Adriatic claims. The German counter proposals begin arriving, with a 20 000 word first section.
Plans are nearly set for Princeton and Gibson county Memorial Day with a Friday program. Veterans from Civil War to World War I will gather at Post hall to travel to outlying cemeteries, with a Grand Army ritual at Maple Hill. A parade led by the Princeton band will proceed to Odd Fellows cemetery and the United Presbyterian church for services, followed by an afternoon program at the church.
Chicago May 29 Democrats here designated the rejection or acceptance of the League of Nations as the paramount issue of the 1920 campaign. They said the Democratic national committee adopted resolutions urging ratification by the Republican Congress, warning rejection could push President Wilson toward a third term candidacy.
Secretary Baker urged the house military committee to pursue military training tied to universities and high schools. He framed the army as an institution of education and said personnel should be educated in military science and in educational and vocational fields.
Members of the delegation named at the Saturday court house meeting returned Wednesday night and this morning from Indianapolis where they met the state highway commission and the governor to urge action on the White River bridge and Dixie Bee highway. The group included Paul Maier Claude A. Smith P S Armstrong Fred RB Ewing F J Biggs 8 T Fisher 8 R Adams and J Snyder.
Miss Jennie Hughes, a prominent speaker, speaks tonight at 8 at United Presbyterian Church in support of the temperance movement. A special program will be presented and the public is urged to attend with no admission charge.
The third local season baseball game is set for Friday after noon at 2 30 at Coal Mine Park with Vincennes visiting for a return contest. A large crowd is expected as Princeton aims to stay strong against Alicetown. Admission is thirty cents including tax. Batteries are Vincennes Williams and Mullen, Princeton Meiser Day and Carrel.

On May 29, French and Americans will honor America's dead across northern and southern France. President Wilson will speak near Paris, while Pershing attends ceremonies at multiple cemeteries once in German hands. About 70,000 American graves to be decorated with flags as French civilians place flowers.
One of the greatest cattle sales in the state will be held at the Gibson county fair grounds Saturday afternoon. The entire herd of full bred Hereford cattle belonging to William Kister of Haubstadt will be offered at auction. Estimated total value at least fifty thousand dollars. Cols Gurtin Reppert and Moore will conduct the sale. Attendance expected from stock fanciers nationwide. Sale likely starts about 12 30.
An exchange telegram from Cologne reports a fire in a building used by Americans caused an explosion of munition dumps and says eighty are missing. It is unclear if the missing refer to American casualties.
Navy department officials voiced uncertainty over the cause of the delay in NC 4 flight from Lisbon to Plymouth England. A Lisbon cable said the plane would not depart today and weather conditions were suspected to be unfavorable.
N GC Kinsbury vice president of the Bell system told the senate interstate commerce committee that when Congress returns it should pass a continuing low rate regime under government control. He warned that restoring pre takeover rates could push many companies into serious trouble.
Mrs. M. M. Kennedy received a box of keepsakes from her son Charles serving in France. The assortment includes pictures, handkerchiefs, a French seventy five shell and a flag in service. He notes his company is starting home, ending their overseas duty.
The Princeton post office will observe the usual holiday hours Friday. Rural patrons may be served at the window up to closing hour Friday morning.
Henry Holtzman of Snake Run formerly Baldwin Heights visited the city today. Local residents noted his appearance and conversation about current weather and community affairs.
President Wilson nears return and an official peace declaration prompts senior officials to leave. Herbert Hoover Vance McCormick Bernard Baruch George Creel Harry Garfield and Edward Hurley are named as likely quitters. Secretary Baker may resign after war work completes though officially he plans to stay.
Eldo Hill Roy Boswell and Arthur Boswell arrive home after months in service in France. O B Wirth and his wife also return with Mrs Wirth stepping in to run the rural mail route during his absence, earning high praise for her spirited support.
