The state highway commission announced the 1922 program to build 113.7 miles of hard surface roads with four projects on the National road and six gaps to close. Fire departments battles small roof blaze at residence

Ford Coupe Thief Fled After Shootout In Baldwin Heights
An Evansville man’s Ford coupe stolen Friday night was recovered by Evansville city police near Baldwin Heights after a high speed chase. Officers Elliott Hyslop and Paugett fired six shots as the suspect, a young man in a dark suit and cap, fled toward nurseries but escaped. The car, found with worn front tires, was returned to headquarters and the owner, who offered no reward, was not allowed to claim it.
