A lengthy council session approves a street, sewer and maintenance program while hearing numerous petitions. The body adopts a commemorative resolution, sets May 19 for bids on city work, and authorizes a bond and contract for a street project. Repairs to the courthouse tower and other service bills are approved, with payrolls and vendor payments listed.
Arrangements are made for a track meet this Saturday afternoon between Princeton Mt. Vernon and possibly Owensville High schools at the fairgrounds. The 18 event program includes a relay and is expected to be interesting with 15 cent admission to cover expenses. Miss Susan Harper and Willan N. Gardner returned to Vincennes after visiting Mr and Mrs William Schildroth on South Seminary Street May Gardner recently returned from France after six months service.
St Louis dispatch notes eight district counties have met their Victory loan quotas while Gibson County remains incomplete. Indiana district is 93.1 percent filled with $13,073,800 subscribed. other counties listed include Floyd Jennings Lawrence Daviess Jefferson Martin Posey Switzerland Washington.
Premier Orlando and Foreign Minister Sonnino departed Rome on a special train at 10 o clock for Paris last night.

Two about nineteen year old youths named Herbert Wiggs and Jol Stull from Littles were arrested at 4 am near the C I I station. A revolver was found on each after search. They are held pending investigation.
