Eight troopers rescued about one hundred Holy Roller members from a mob of nearly a thousand that besieged the church in Bound Brook New Jersey. A speaker's remarks backing the Ku Klux Klan were said to trigger the riot. Two Holy Rollers were arrested after a brawl inside the church led to a stoning of the building and destruction of parked cars.
Gibson County Soldiers Memorial Commission met in the County Auditor’s office to review tentative plans for a memorial building on the purchased site. Attendees included Ceo. Ford Fr Braen H C Heldt Oakland City Alva Levi and R S Munford. Architects Toutt man Evansville Bayrd and Gadiis Vincennes provided pencil drawings.
Oakland City Indiana May 2 Special announcement shows spring and summer terms may exceed one thousand students. Six hundred enrolled for spring with final registration next Monday expected to add two hundred more. June registrations anticipate a total enrollment of one thousand and a new attendance record. President Dearing and his organization are to be congratulated.
A track and field meet at the fairgrounds Tuesday afternoon left two students injured. Lucile Abell, 15, was struck on the head by a twelve pound shot during the shot put event after the weight slipped off line. She was taken to the Methodist hospital with a deep scalp wound but no fracture and is resting well with anticipated discharge in a few days.
Kansasa City May 2 bands held up two Missouri Pacific freight trains near Walcox Missouri at an early hour. Officials believe the same gang carried out both robberies with about 20 men in two motor trucks taking part. Several freight cars were emptied of merchandise and valued goods were reported stolen.
Police believe Leighton Mounts died during inter class hazing at Northwestern University in 1921. The body was found on a Lake Michigan pier after a class rivalry fight. chemical stains were found on the corpse to delay discovery. University officials banned all class rivalry and launched a sweeping probe with summons for participants.
Spur red on by a $2,000 reward search was under way for marauders who Sunday night destroyed more than 1,500 yards of tobacco plant beds at Cave Kentucky. Beds faced vandalism as covers were torn, plants scraped, and earth piles dumped.

Federal narcotics agents tied a Terre Haute case to Indianapolis drug arrests after the death of James Kennedy of Sullivan from an overdose. Eight Terre Haute residents, six men and two women, were jailed in Indianapolis following raids that began with the Terre Haute arrests this week. The probe targets a presumed organized drug operation in Indiana.
The Princeton Band Association announces a countywide band for Gibson County with headquarters in Princeton. A director and music studio will be established, aiming to enrich local youth and perpetuate music. The project seeks $3,000, with $2,000 already raised from memberships at $10 each. volunteers will canvass the county, and members will be discharged from further contributions for the year.
