Officers believe a horse and buggy were stolen from Cockriel livery barn on North Hart street Friday morning. A stranger hired the rig and crossed the Wabash river at Mt. Carmel with the stolen vehicle. Descriptions were broadcast. police suspect an accomplice and plan to hold the outfit until the search subsides. Authorities strive to capture the thief soon.
