A defective rail toppled Train No 5 of the Chicago and Nashville Limited about two and a half miles south of Vincennes as it moved at sixty mph. Six cars left the tracks but the engine and tender stayed upright. No injuries. passengers jolted. Conductor Robert Batterson and Engineer Henry Ducker led the crew.
