In Roumania five million dollars in bills were found in a sack in the Simplon Express corridor and seized at Temesvar station on the Roumanian Hungarian frontier. Officials expect to reveal the owner in a few days as the money lay in wait for a trip to England and the United States.
Senator John Sharp Williams charged that opponents of the League of Nations plotted to prolong Wilson’s illness and defeat ratification. He described a “period of great conspiracy” beginning before the treaty draft and blamed cheap politicians in Washington for the effort.
