Hundreds enjoyed the first night of The Fire Prince, a high school operetta in the auditorium. Costumes from a St. Louis shop arrived incomplete for the girls, but local seamstresses supplied replacements. Teachers Miss Mabel MacClellen and Miss Isabelle Mossman are praised for guiding the production. The Fire Prince repeats tonight for a final show.
On a heavy noon rain, a boy in a slicker helped three schoolgirls by sharing his waterproof coat. He wrapped the smallest girl on the bicycle crossbar, then gave his coat to the largest girl as another rider returned to school. Passersby praised the unnamed helper.

The War Department has ordered more than 85000 small flags for individual graves of American soldiers buried in Europe. Eight large flags and 350 smaller ones will also be sent to cemeteries. Evelyn Faye Knealing two years old daughter of Sherman and Mrs Knealing of Shelbyville fell about fifteen feet from a second story window landing in a flower bed. Neighbors and mother rushed to aid finding only light scratches and no serious injuries.
Governor James M. Cox, seeking the Democratic nomination, told the Iroquois Club that a senatorial conspiracy defeated the peace treaty. He urged reform of taxation and condemned Bolshevik hysteria while calling for a small business volume tax to replace the excess profits and inheritance taxes.
Miss Tona Landers died Sunday March 14 at City hospital Louisville after a mastoid operation and meningitis. A Princeton-born Crawford county resident, she volunteered during the influenza epidemic at Camp Taylor and trained at Louisville hospital for three months before death. Survived by mother, a brother, a sister. niece of Mrs. Montgomery and cousin of Mrs. Wyatts. Remains to Marengo Indiana for burial.
Mary Elizabeth Bacon died at her Fort Branch home on March 23 from complications of diseases. Funeral held March 25 at 10 AM at the residence. She was born November 24, 1851 in Crawford County, daughter of John and Martha Wellman. A longtime member of the Regular Baptist Church, she served as matron of the French Orphans Home and was active in community affairs. Survived by husband Thomas J. Bacon and brothers Samuel B. Wellman and Charles W. Wellman.

The Keifer family expresses gratitude to friends and neighbors for acts of kindness and sympathy during the illness and death of John Keifer. They also thank for the flowers sent as a final tribute.

Police seek the unknown shooter. Days earlier a bullet struck the office of B O James secretary of the commonwealth. Mr and Mrs Edward Pittman of Danville Illinois, visiting in Richmond, returned home today.
Dr. Lawson Brown of Saranac Lake urged the New York State Medical Society that courting should occur at night or late afternoon to be safer. He cited a kissing test with a TB patient kissing a sterile dish, finding morning kisses carried germs while afternoon and evening kisses posed a healthier risk.
