March 24 report from Temps notes that the supreme council in Sténdon agrees to offer League of Nations protection to an independent Armenia. Armenia would include Russian Armenia and parts of Turkey, lacking a sea outlet and using Batum as an international port while the main objection concerns the league’s authority to enforce Armenia’s independence.
L. A. Stone of Oakland City accepts district United financial campaign director post for Indiana Inter Church World Movement drive April 24 to May 9. District No 1 covers Dubois Gibson Perry Posey Spencer Warrick counties with Evansville as the headquarters. Gibson county reports 100 percent organization under county united campaign director Rollin Maxim Princeton.
The weekly school night at First Methodist church tonight offers a Gospel of Mathew course from 7:15 to 8. A second block from 8:15 features two courses on the fundamentals of Methodism and Sunday school training. An 8 to 8:15 period is devoted to song and prayer. Attendance has grown since it began a week ago.

An 48 hour armistice is arranged in the Ruhr with promises to withdraw troops and consult workers on government reorganization.
President Wilson will sign an executive order directing all federal departments to buy and store a three month coal supply for May June and July. State and county governments and public utilities will be urged to do likewise. Experts say coal commissions and mines will stay busy during the dull season.
Bennett Phillips Roeder formerly of this city married Miss Minnie Lovelace of Oakland City in Rogers Park M E church Indianapolis. Rev George Smith officiated at six o clock. Roeder, son of Mr and Mrs Charles Roeder, previously with 8 G Newman Co and now a salesman for American Radiator in Indianapolis. They visited Roeder’s parents here and plan to reside at 821 North Pennsylvania Street after April 10.
A Denver council bill proposes banning horses cattle sheep and swine from city streets effective January 1 1925. If enacted the ordinance would prohibit keeping or driving animals within corporate limits.
Friday March 26 is the last day for payment of dues without being delinquent. An assessment of five cents per member per quarter is authorized. W A Dill serves as Financial Secretary and Treasurer.
Markets show gains across grains and livestock with wheat at 2.33 and corn at 1.50 in local quotes. Indianapolis grain lists milling wheat at 1.58 and oats No 3 White around 99 to 99.3, while livestock receipts reach 8500 on steady tone with best heavies 16.50 to 16.65 and cattle and sheep prices noted.
On the Mumford Watkins farm five miles north of Francisco a power house is being erected by the Alabama Oil Co to pump two wells on the Watkins farm and wells on adjoining leases. The second well has not been shot due to overflow from the Patoka river submerging it, though prior flow was sufficient. The first well on this lease pumps twenty barrels a day. The third well is being drilled.
The Princeton Rotarians will visit Mt. Carmel Rotary Club 19 as guests Thursday evening. A special car from the Southern train leaves G& ELOL station at 1 PM for Mt. Carmel. The Harrisburg club will supervise the Mt. Carmel initiation into Rotary work.
Overton Decker the Hazelton ferry owner announced Wednesday the ferry would run Thursday but today says the river falls too slowly and the ferry will likely not start until Friday or Saturday. The Patoka river nears standstill at Patoka as waters recede slowly.
W M Price of Allendale J S Young Jr of Lawrenceville and Ray Henley of Vincennes, noted oil men, have purchased two valuable oil properties at Union Indiana. The deal reportedly costs thousands of dollars and development will begin immediately.
The funeral for Mildred Douglas of Francisco was held this morning at the Francisco Baptist church, conducted by Rev. A. D. Crane of Lynville. Burial followed at Providence cemetery.
The Democrat highlights twice monthly shop sales on the 10th and 25th offering savings on home and family purchases. Paydays for Southern Railroad and shop employees and local miners drive these promotions, making Princeton a premier shopping town in Gibson County, Indiana.
New Haven March 24 Connecticut women who lack voting rights dominate the Republican state convention here. The key platform plank calls the party to support suffrage and asks the governor to convene a special legislative session.
Shirley Poppy is proposed as the memorial flower of the American Legion. Milton J. Foreman of Illinois received the suggestion from national headquarters in Indianapolis after Edward B. Rhodes Post in Tacoma Washington adopted the resolution.
Claude Herbert died Friday evening at 6 30 at his home in Oakland City aged 42. He earned a mine injury eighteen years ago and suffered since. He was twice elected clerk treasurer of Oakland City and served well. Survived by four brothers and one sister. Funeral Sunday at 10 with Rev L C Murr. Forsythe Cemetery burial.
John Keifer a well known farmer died Tuesday night at his home near the Poor Farm southeast of the city after months of illness including dropsy and stomach trouble. Funeral Friday at 10 at the family residence with burial in the OO OF cemetery. He was born in 1854 in Germany and came to the United States at age four. Survived by a widow and six children Mrs Arthur Wood of Ft Branch Mrs Carrie Kisel and Ott of Haubstadt Paul of Ft Branch Lester and Clarence at home one brother Fred Keifer of Evansville.

Gilbert C Falls of this city was tried in Indianapolis on an auto theft charge. Arrest made last September. He was found not guilty before Judge James Collins. Oakland City Journal reported.
In a Municipal Court session Judge Lionel Pardee ordered a public whipping for Belley, who previously battered his wife with a heavy leather belt. The court officer stripped him and lashed his back with the buckle end of the same belt, reflecting the wife’s endured suffering.
Frank Piano Sr told police he shot his son Frank Jr after a night with a “gang of toughs” and hospitalized the 17 year old with three wounds. The father surrendered at a police station saying he feared the boy’s fate and hoped for renewal.
Prof W B Anderson representative of Pike and Knox counties in the state legislature and former head of Oakland City College Agriculture department has been named division superintendent of the new state highway system. He will oversee the Dixie Bee Line from Warrack to Hazelton, the Mt Vernon branch, and the Princeton to Petersburg route with maintenance under his supervision as patrolmen are appointed.
Chester White breeders in Gibson County are urged to attend a meeting at the County Agent's office on Friday March 26 at 2 30 PM. The session aims to adopt a constitution and by laws and elect officers to form an association. Also listed is a sale notice for cedar posts at 30 cents each by Clarke Read of Douglas Indiana.
